Welcome to Little Jamaican Kitchen!

This recipe blog is one of the two bright spots that came out of my COVID lockdown. The other is all the time I have spent with my baby – love you, Boo Boo Bear!

During this period of uncertainty and isolation, it was nice to have the comfort of delicious food. I learned to cook…I was forced to learn to cook during this time. However, I was fortunate to be in lock down with my grandmother who in my opinion is a master chef. It has been both a humbling and exhilarating experience to shadow her in the kitchen. She’s a great teacher but has a talent for developing wonderful flavor profiles with spices.

In these trying times, when our elderly family members are at higher risk, I have tried my best to distract my grandma from the daily ravages of COVID-19. Besides helping you to take a culinary vacation to sunny and vibrant Jamaica, I hope this blog inspires you to appreciate the family you have around to. I hope you are also inspired to celebrate their talents and their unique contribution to the fabric of our lives.

Bon Appetit!
